Good bye Sxip!

October 2005; after thinking about my future and taking in consideration that I need more stability – and of course because I like challenges - I decided to accept NGRAIN offer.
Anyway, Sxip was a great experience for me, the place where I met the brightest team, great people and finally friends.
There I met Zak, there I start to feel what Open Source and Free Software means and a lot of other good things that happened to me. So probably was the most benefic experience that I encountered in an IT company.

Sept 2004 at Techvibes, Vancouver. Taking 'The Job' competition

Notes by Techvibes: “In an unprecedented event to happen on Tuesday, September 21, 2004, Walk The Talk Management Group will host their radio show ‘The Job’ at the live Techvibes Unplugged networking event at SkyBar Vancouver (670 Smithe Street). During the show, one of two pre-screened candidates will be hired LIVE by a BC employer -SXIP NETWORKS - with the assistance of Keith Turner, Host of ‘The Job’ and President of Walk the Talk Management Group.‘The Job’ is a twice-weekly one hour romp that “trumps” “The Donald”. Why? Because on this show we actually give out real jobs to real people live on the air – and a new job is awarded every week by the end of the second night’s show! Combining 2 hours of live radio appearances, ‘The Job’ is a supremely different and remarkably effective way to hire people and enhance the BC employment community. By the end of the show, the employer names the lucky winner and a real Vancouver job has been filled by a real B.C. resident – live on the air!
For the first time ever, ‘The Job’ will go live on location to the Techvibes Unplugged event, where host Keith Turner will give a brief keynote address before the show is presented live, and the audience is invited to VOTE for the candidate they believe should receive the new position!”

I was taking “The Job Finding Club” course at SUCCESS. This course helped me a lot to understand the Canadian differences and similarities related to the job market. I give thanks to Ken Gordon, as he helped me get through my first interview with positive results.
